Books and resources for families either considering adopting a puppy or who need support in the early stages of integrating a dog, particularly for the 5A's (Allergies, Asthma, ADHD, Autism and Anxiety), which are the reasons behind my change from law to dogs. I'm creating communities of individuals and also for parents of children who can support and guide each other in their choices.
My breeder vision is simple yet profound: to empower individuals worldwide to genetically screen and guide them to succeed in their canine careers. It's about rewriting the narrative and perceptions about breeding dogs and fostering a culture of resilience, compliance with legislation and personal achievement. Hopefully, this breeder community will uplift each other to new heights, thus improving canine standards and providing invaluable knowledge and support to each other. It can be a lonely job!
Welcome to my corner of the internet, where my passion for dogs meets purpose. Hopefully, your journey will begin just like it did for me and my four daughters. When my first daughter had asthma and allergies, I sought out a low/no shedding pet. My children are neurodiverse (like me), and I saw the positive impact of having dogs. So, I imported foundation lines from research centres and assistance programs worldwide to refine my lines, the first in 2003 to bring authentic Cobberdogs to the UK.
My 4 daughters are the reason for my work.
Over the past twenty years, I've been immersed in the dynamic world of Australian Cobberdogs, a type of Labradoodle which has become a Breed in Development in Australia. . I visited Rutland Manor and Tegan Park in Australia in 2006 to hand-pick dogs for health and temperament. I have exported pups and partly trained dogs to families and organisations internationally. My journey took over twenty years, and now I wish to share my dogs and knowledge as part of my legacy in semi-retirement.
In 2023, I turned fifty years old. Twenty years after pivoting from practising law, I knew change was ahead again. Success in breeding puppies was just the beginning. A profound realisation emerged: to make a more significant impact, I should empower new breeders to "breed better" and to support more families than those adopting from me. This realisation marked the turning point that led to the creation of Puppy Classroom and the writing of my first book.
